Ryan McGinley makes a world that seems like it would never be captured. Moments of magic and sexiness that exist in the quiet alone of nature and in unforgettable summers with your closest friends. It is carefree and bohemian and in some ways doesn’t belong to a white walled gallery. But in another way, the images pop and crackle with candy color that make the viewer very much a part of them. His characters are performative aliens, capable of defying gravity. Beautiful nomads and modern-day hippies.
