Who is HANI DANCE?

HANI DANCE is a contemporary dance company by artistic director Saeed Hani and producer Oliver Moeller based in Trier, Germany and Bascharage, Luxembourg.

HANI DANCE loves to combine different cultural perspectives and believes in the process of sharing intercultural ideas and viewpoints in order to create an organic new piece of dance. In the continual search of a new body language and a new way to move the human body, the essentials are power, dynamism, spirit and mind. With listening to the outer and inner rhythm of our bodies and lives, we can set the stage on fire.

HANI DANCE was founded in 2016. As first project we realized ONE NIGHT STAND as a cooperation with the association menschMITmensch e.V. with international dancers from Syria, Belgium, Portugal and Brazil. Followed by DEM MENSCHEN EIN WOLF with six dancers from Germany, Spain, Italy and Syria in 2018. The following year Saeed Hani was invited to the Hong Kong International Choreography Festival where he realized the duet DARK BIRD.

The duet THE BLIND NARCISSIST premiered in October 2020 at the sold-out exhibition hall in Trier with dancers from Australia/UK and Germany. Followed by the project “FLOAT” for the DART dance company DSP in Berlin, Germany, with 16 international dancers from all over the world.

“OUT OF RANGE” is the 6th production of HANI DANCE and the first co-production between Saeed Hani and Giovanni Zazzera (Z- Art asbl) with dancers from Australia/UK, Spain, France, Japan and Italy.

One of HANI DANCE’s upcoming projects “WIND IN THE OLIVE GROVE” will take place in New York City in 2022. The American Battery Dance Company has commissioned Saeed Hani for the project “HOFMANN DANCES”.

Beyond our projects and the passion for contemporary dance, our goal is to become a home for international, creative and artistic freelancers of all kinds – not only to stage a show but to make a stand against inhumanity and superficiality.
